The ARV 55 is a performance road wheelset for riders for whom speed and results come first. We built it on the proven ARX 55 architecture and took it to the highest level – an aerodynamic, extremely stiff wheelset made from the most advanced materials available today. It’s built to race, ready to stand up to the loads of a full sprint.

Aerodynamics that set the pace
The 55 mm-deep outer rim profile stays true to the ARX – the same CFD-proven shape and the same 23 mm internal width for 28-30 mm tires. These wheels slice through the wind, giving an edge on fast sections and helping you hold high speed through long breakaways. The balance between aerodynamics, low weight and crosswind stability is refined enough here that we deliberately chose to leave it untouched.

Optimised rim construction
Outwardly the rim matches the ARX 55 line, but we redesigned its internal structure from the ground up for carbon spokes and the big power outputs of racing. Because these are stiffer and damp vibration differently, we reinforced the rim profile where it matters and offset the added material by precisely tapering the layup elsewhere. T1000 carbon fibre kept the weight of the deep section to a minimum – proof that strong aerodynamics and low weight can go hand in hand.

Titanium and carbon – a recipe for stiffness
The next stage of building race-ready snap happens at the spokes. We build the ARV 55 around aero carbon spokes with titanium heads and threads. This drops overall weight and takes the build’s lateral stiffness to a new level. You feel it in a sudden attack or an all-out sprint to the line – every watt you put down reaches the road, with nothing lost.

Every ARV 55 set is the work of experienced wheelbuilders. At its heart sit reliable DT Swiss 240 hubs in the dedicated carbon-spoke build. Precise lacing and rigorous truing deliver a complete wheelset – fast, dependable and built to cross the line first.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. As standard, the wheels are built for today’s most common thru axle system – 12×100 mm (front) and 12×142 mm (rear) – which is the standard on almost every modern road bike. The hubs in these wheels cannot be converted to other standards.

With its 55 mm depth, the ARV 55 is a design made for racing. The deeper, more aerodynamic rim helps you hold a high speed on flat and rolling routes and during breakaways – at the cost of slightly more sensitivity to crosswinds. If you face climbs, long distances or windy, open routes more often, the lighter and calmer 48 mm depth of the ARV 48 will be the more versatile choice. Both models combine a rim enriched with T1000 fibres, carbon spokes, DT Swiss 240 hubs and a lifetime warranty.

Yes. Every wheel that leaves our workshop is already sealed with the correct tubeless tape. Valves are not part of the set, but you can add them in our shop. Just add them to your cart and we’ll match their length and base shape to fit the 48 mm rim depth perfectly.

We shaped the outer profile of the ARV 55 rim so that, together with a 28-30 mm tire, it forms the most aerodynamic combination. This setup delivers the most effective reduction in air resistance at high speed. With a 23 mm internal rim width, you can also run much wider tires safely. The only real limit is your frame clearance.

The ARV 55 uses hooked rims (with a bead hook). This is the most versatile and safest solution, allowing both tubeless (tubeless) and classic clincher tires with inner tubes (including latex or TPU), without the strict pressure limits typical of hookless rims.

You order the wheels with a freehub body matched to your drivetrain – options include Shimano HG 11-speed (also compatible with 12-speed road cassettes), SRAM XDR, Shimano Micro Spline and Campagnolo N3W. Before ordering, make sure the chosen freehub body is compatible with the components on your bike. We encourage you to read the article on our blog covering this topic.

We build this model exclusively on DT Swiss 240 hubs in a version adapted for carbon spokes. Other hubs cannot be selected, because the ARV 55 rims have their holes drilled at precisely measured angles matched only to this hub model. This translates into greater durability and reliability of the wheels.

Yes. The carbon spokes we use in the ARV models have titanium heads and threads, and their tensile strength is very high at a far lower weight than steel spokes. In everyday use they are extremely durable and they additionally increase wheel stiffness. If one is damaged, we replace the spoke as a service job in our workshop – do not try to straighten or repair it yourself. The ARV set is covered by a lifetime warranty and the Crash Replacement programme, and we keep all spare parts in stock, so we can carry out any repair within two weeks.

We designed the U-shaped ARV 55 rim profile to minimise the effect of crosswinds and to keep a stability unheard of in older V-shape designs. Bear in mind, though, that this is a deep, aerodynamic profile dedicated to fast riding – the wheels handle predictably, but in strong gusts they will demand a little more attention than the lower ARV 48. This is a set that performs best on flat and rolling routes, where its aerodynamics give the greatest advantage.

Thanks to a reinforced T1000 carbon fibre layup and 24 ultra-stiff carbon spokes in each wheel, the weight limit (rider + bike) is 125 kg. It’s a design made to carry the large loads generated during finishes and breakaways, combining ultralight weight with race-grade stiffness.

On wheels built on carbon rims we offer a lifetime warranty, and we process claims within five working days. We also cover them with our Crash Replacement programme: if you damage a rim in a crash, we’ll replace it on preferential terms. We carry out all service repairs within two weeks, because we keep the necessary parts in stock. We build every wheel by hand in our Warsaw workshop and treat each one as a separate project.
