XC 30 is our lightest wheelset for cross-country and MTB marathons. We build them on carbon rims with a featherweight of 305 grams and an internal width of 30 millimeters. This profile is optimal for 2.25-inch wide tires, the most commonly used in these disciplines today.
Experienced riders know that a strong leg and good technique are not enough when the tires slip on the terrain. The best possible traction is essential to effectively transfer the torque the rider generates. This, in turn, depends mainly on the tires’ tread and how they fit on the rim. The increased internal width allows the rider to ride at lower pressures without the risk of the tire blowing off the bead and also reduces the risk of the bead hitting the ground by increasing the volume of air inside the tire.
The XC 30 wheels are laced on Sapim D-light spokes, which provide the optimum balance between high stiffness and low weight. You can choose the model of hubs on which we build them.
