GRX 52 are advanced aerodynamic gravel wheels for demanding riders. We designed them to reduce both aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance, giving you an advantage on every route.

• Extremely wide 32 mm rim
The 32 mm internal width clearly increases tire volume, improving stability, traction and control. Effective vibration damping saves your power and boosts comfort.

• Aerodynamics for gravel
The deep 52 mm profile makes it easier to hold speed. It was developed using CFD analysis, which confirmed a clear reduction in aerodynamic drag while maintaining high stability in crosswinds. This makes the wheels work just as well in racing as in everyday training.

• Hooked beads for secure tire fit
Classic hooked beads provide secure bead retention and increase the wheels’ resistance to impacts. They give you an extra safety margin when you experiment with lower pressures or ride harder off-road.

GRX 52 wheels are hand built around DT Swiss 350 or 240 EXP hubs, known for reliability and easy servicing. We use Belgian double-butted Sapim Race or aerodynamic Sapim CX-Sprint spokes. Careful hand lacing and precise truing keep the wheels stiff and true for many thousands of kilometres.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Which tires fit the ultra-wide GRX 52 rims?
The GRX 52 model consists of unique aero gravel wheels with an internal width of 32 mm. The list of compatible tires is the same as for the Zipp 303 XPLR S and SW wheels.

Why are the rims so wide (32 mm) and how do they differ from the Zipp 303 XPLR?
An internal width of 32 mm is the new standard in gravel racing, providing an ideal aerodynamic transition between the tire and the rim. This tire profile effectively reduces vibrations, limiting energy loss (impedance), improving comfort, and lowering rolling resistance. Unlike the Zipp 303 XPLR, the GRX 52 features Hooked rims. This ensures secure tire seating and is a much safer solution than the Hookless system, especially under high loads. Furthermore, GRX 52 wheels are significantly lighter than the Zipp model.

Will these wheels fit my gravel frame?
Due to the high and wide profile, GRX 52 rims may not fit in some frames, especially older ones. Before ordering, check two measurements on your bike:

  • Tire clearance: The frame must accommodate tires of at least 45–50 mm.v
  • Rim clearance: Measure the width between the chainstays at the point where the rim passes through. You must have at least 46-47 mm of space there so the rim does not rub against the frame during sprints. These wheels are dedicated to modern gravel frames with large clearance.

Will the GRX 52 wheels fit my bike? (Axle Standard)
Yes, the wheels are configured by default for the most popular thru-axle system: 12×100 mm (front) and 12×142 mm (rear), which is the standard for almost all modern disc brake road and gravel bikes. If your bike uses a different system (e.g., Quick Release, road boost, 15×100, or other rarer standards), write to us – upon request, we can convert the hubs (swap end caps) to match your frame’s standard.

Are the wheels tubeless-ready (tape and valves)?
Yes, all wheels leaving our workshop are already airtight-taped with the proper tubeless tape. Valves are not included in the set, but you can purchase them in our store. Just add them to your cart, and we will ensure they have the correct length and base shape to perfectly fit your wheels.

What is the weight limit for GRX 52 wheels?
Despite their racing character, the construction of these wheels is very durable. The system weight limit (rider + bike + luggage) is 130 kg, which allows them to be used for bikepacking as well.

What is the difference between the available hub versions (Dandy Horse TCN vs. DT Swiss)?
Dandy Horse TCN hubs feature a 72t freehub with a reliable pawl system, offering a great price-to-quality ratio. DT Swiss 350 and 240 hubs use the patented Ratchet system, which is extremely easy to service and famous for its legendary durability. The version with DT Swiss 240 hubs is the lightest in our offer. You can find more information on the dedicated Hubs page.
