The ARX 48 is a next-generation road wheelset for those who refuse to choose between weight and aerodynamics. This set will transform your bike, adding speed on the flats and confidence in the corners.
• Refined Aerodynamics
We designed the rim profile based on CFD simulations. Its shape is optimized for 28–30 mm tires, effectively reducing air drag while maintaining high stability, even in strong crosswinds.
• Wide Profile – Cornering Confidence
An internal rim width of 23 mm is the new standard in the road wheel world. It ensures optimal tire shaping, translating to lower rolling resistance, better traction, and comfort you will appreciate after several hours in the saddle.
• Low Rotating Mass – Instant Response
Reduced rim weight gives the bike added responsiveness (“snappiness”), turning every pedal stroke into instant acceleration. You will feel this distinctly when exiting corners, during dynamic attacks, and on fast climbs.
The ARX 48 wheels are the result of precise, manual craftsmanship in our workshop. At the heart of the set lie the reliable DT Swiss 350 or 240 EXP hubs, laced with Sapim Race or CX-Sprint spokes. Thanks to our attention to detail during lacing and truing, these wheels are incredibly stiff, dynamic, and bombproof-ready for thousands of kilometers of trouble-free riding.
Will the ARX 48 wheels fit my bike? (Axle Standard)
Yes, the wheels are configured by default for the most popular thru-axle system currently in use: 12×100 mm (front) and 12×142 mm (rear), which is the standard for almost all modern disc brake road bikes. If your bike uses a different system (e.g., Quick Release, road boost, 15×100, or other rarer standards), write to us – upon request, we can convert the hubs (swap end caps) to match your frame’s standard.
Are the wheels tubeless-ready (tape and valves)?
Yes, all wheels leaving our workshop are already airtight-taped with the proper tubeless tape. Valves are not included in the set, but you can purchase them in our store. Just add them to your cart, and we will ensure they have the correct length and base shape to perfectly fit your wheels.
Which tires fit the ARX 48 wheels best?
The ARX 48 rims have an internal width of 23 mm, optimized for modern road tires with a width of 28–30 mm. This setup ensures the lowest rolling resistance and best aerodynamics. However, ARX 48 rims can safely handle wider tires, up to 42 mm.
Are the rims hookless or hooked, and can I use inner tubes?
The ARX 48 model features Hooked rims (with a bead hook). This is the most versatile and safe solution, allowing for the use of both tubeless systems and classic tires with inner tubes, without the strict pressure limits typical of hookless rims.
What is the difference between the available hub versions (Dandy Horse TCN vs. DT Swiss)?
Dandy Horse TCN hubs feature a 72t freehub with a reliable pawl system, offering a great price-to-quality ratio. DT Swiss 350 and 240 hubs use the patented Ratchet system, which is extremely easy to service and famous for its legendary durability. The version with DT Swiss 240 hubs is the lightest in our offer. You can find more information on the dedicated Hubs page.
Will the 48 mm depth be stable in crosswinds?
Yes. The profile of the ARX 48 rim was designed based on airflow simulation analysis, with a special focus on stability in crosswinds. The rim has a “U-shape” rather than the outdated “V-shape.” This makes the wheels significantly less sensitive to side winds and maintains handling stability even at high speeds. This makes them ideal “all-rounder” wheels—suitable for both flat routes and hilly terrain.
What is the weight limit for ARX 48 wheels?
Thanks to a reinforced carbon fiber layup and Sapim spokes, the weight limit (rider + bike) is 130 kg. This makes them some of the most durable lightweight road wheels on the market.
