LIFETIME WARRANTY ON CARBON WHEELS

At Dandy Horse, we are confident in the quality of our wheels. We know how much work goes into building them and how rigorous the testing of our rims is. That is why we offer a lifetime warranty on all wheels built with carbon rims.

We want you to enjoy the ride, not worry about your gear. Below, we explain the simple principles under which we take responsibility for our products.

Who is covered and what is included?

The warranty covers the original owner of the wheels and applies to all material and manufacturing defects. If a rim cracks due to a production error or a hidden material defect, we will repair it at our cost. Indefinitely.

All you need is the Wheel Passport – a key document you receive with your wheels. Treat it like your wheelset’s ID card. It contains a service logbook; filling this out during every service allows us to reconstruct the service history of the wheels. This is essential to utilize the privilege of the Lifetime Warranty after 2 years from the date of purchase.

Fair Rules – What isn't covered and why?

Our relationship is built on honesty. The warranty protects against errors on our part, but it is not insurance against everything. Here are the situations excluded from the warranty:

  1. Natural wear and tear (bearings, freehubs, clutch mechanisms). These are consumable parts that work the hardest. Just like brake pads or tires, bearings wear out with mileage, mud, and water. This is a natural process, not a product defect.
  2. Mechanical damage and accidents. The warranty does not cover damage caused by crashes, hitting obstacles, or improper transport. If you are involved in a collision or hit a rock with tire pressure that is too low, the wheel may get damaged—but this does not stem from a defect. The good news: In such situations, you can use our Crash Replacement program.
  3. Unauthorized modifications and servicing without tools. A wheel is a precise system of mutually balancing forces. If someone without the proper equipment (a calibrated tensiometer) starts turning nipples, the spoke tension balance will be disturbed. This can lead to failure, for which we cannot take responsibility. The same applies to permanent alterations to the wheel’s appearance.

How to maintain the warranty?

It’s simple: use the wheels as intended, do not modify them yourself, and take care of your Wheel Passport. If you service your wheels outside of Dandy Horse, remember to ensure an entry is made in the service logbook (inside the Wheel Passport).

Having a problem with your wheels? Do not wait. Continuing to ride with a defect can be dangerous and lead to secondary damage not covered by the warranty. Contact us, and we will help you get back on the track as soon as possible.
